Who Am I? Beren: Who am I? Why do you ask?
I am what I choose to do;
I am every word and task;
In that way, the same as you.
Where I've lived and where I move,
What I assert and what I prove,
With what I keep, with what I'll part,
Those things that I hold in my heart.
Who am I? It's hard to tell,
For to you I've bound my life;
To keep through heaven, earth and hell;
To love you ever as my wife.
To laugh, to mourn, decrease or grow;
To keep you in my heart, and so
I am yours to send away,
But who you are, I cannot say.
Who am I? I do not know.
In fading light, tomorrow's hope.
What I reap from what I sow;
What I suffer, how I cope.
When daylight breaks the sleep of night
I'll be what I can set to right,
But if you cleave my heart in twain
Then I shall be myself again.
